Do you teach Year 12 Maths classes with a wide range of prior attainment?
Do you have students starting the course who have not mastered the core concepts required for A Level?
Are you concerned about how to support these students whilst also providing appropriate challenge for higher attainers?
If the answer to these questions is ‘Yes’, you will be interested to join this new research Work Group. Together, we will work to explore and develop approaches, fully resourced through a collaboration with the AMSP, to provide the necessary support for students arriving with grades 6 and 7 (or even grade 5) whilst maintaining the depth and content required to enable students to achieve the highest grades.
The group will meet 4 times over the year, face-to-face where possible, online where needed. It is fully funded by the Matrix Maths Hub and free of charge to schools and participants.
Teachers in the group will be required to trial the lesson plans in their school, either themselves or via a colleague. Since we are considering Year 12 content only, we would like to meet as early as possible in the year and have set the initial face-to-face meeting to be Tuesday 15th October.
What is the cost?
The Work Group is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme, so is free to participating schools.
Bookings for 2025-26 have now closed. To register an interesting in joining this Work Group for 2026-27, please complete the form below:
