An online programme for new teachers of Core Maths
What is involved?
Core Maths is a relatively new qualification and uptake is growing, so more Core Maths teaching capacity is needed. This online programme seeks to address this need by helping teachers to develop the specialist knowledge to teach Core Maths effectively.
Participants will be guided through six separate sessions of 2.5 hours focusing on themes common to all Core Maths specifications. After taking part in activities for each of these themes, they will then identify an activity to use in their own classroom, and share and reflect on their experience with the group. Participants will have the opportunity to plan and prepare within the Work Group sessions.
Who can take part?
This programme is for teachers who are in the first two years of teaching Core Maths and are teaching a Core Maths class during the academic year 2025/26. It is offered in conjunction with the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) and is open to all teachers in the East of England region.
Benefits
